Client Services Executive Stephanie Wagland tells us more about herself:
Q: What has been the journey that has led you to becoming a Client Services Executive?
I started out as a Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of a local IFA straight out of sixth form. This company was then acquired and I worked for the larger firm as an administrator for a few months. I missed the client focus and preferred working for a firm that had the clients’ best interests at heart, so I then moved to a local IFA as an administrator. I was there for three years and worked my way up to Office Manager. The owner then decided to return to New Zealand so I was made redundant and joined Citywide in May 2018. It’s definitely been a rollercoaster ride, but I’ve managed to pick up four exams along the way.
Q: What attracted you to work for Citywide Financial Partners?
I live locally and enjoy working locally. Citywide is very similar to previous firms I have worked for, in that it is very client centric and focuses on the client’s experience.
Q: We know you are a Client Services Executive but what does that mean day to day?
My day-to-day role is to support the Financial Planners to ensure our clients receive an exceptional level of service. My specific role also includes being the main point of contact in the Client Services Team for new prospective clients for Clinton.
Q: What do you find interesting about the work that you do?
Every day is different, you never know what queries you will be greeted within the morning and it is interesting to assess how best to help.
Q: What are you saving for?
That rainy day… one day a house… and when it eventually arrives, retirement!
Q: When you are not at Citywide, what keeps you busy?
Spending time with loved ones is extremely important to me, thankfully we all sport the same football team so we enjoy going to football matches together. We are also all massive Marvel fans so family trips to the cinema are a regular occurrence. I also reluctantly drag myself to the gym each week but I do enjoy swimming.
Q: If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
The only thing that is permanent in life is change – embrace it don’t fear it.
Q: What is your proudest achievement in life so far?
I’ve had some pretty cool job titles for someone of my age.
Q: And what goals are you working towards now?
I am currently working towards the Chartered Insurance Institute Pensions Administration exam.
